This evaluation procedure describesthe use of the Gray Scale for evaluatingstaining of textiles resulting fromcolorfastness tests. A precise colorimetricspecification of the differences betweenthe reference and the 9-step Scale isgiven as a permanent record againstwhich newly prepared Gray Scales, andold Scales that may have changed, can becompared.
